Sterling is that easy to ride, enjoyable horse you'll enjoy day after day. He is well trained in the arena, and moves off leg pressure well, and neck reins. You can have less experienced riders on him, and with his super smooth jog, they will be able to get the hang of things. He has both his leads, and no problem picking the correct one. He has a wonderfully slow jog, and a longer stride when asked. He is fine with the tarp and ball, and you can have lots of fun playing around with obstacles. He has also been ridden in a hunt saddle, and popped over jumps. He is excellent on the ground, and you can move all his body parts and lunge him with ease.
Outside the arena, he goes confidently down the trail, and is not spooky. Our 11 year old rides him around the farm, alone or with other horses. He is fine when hauled to new places, and loads and trailers well. He is traffic safe. He has encountered many deer and turkeys while out and about, and is fine with them. He has a soft mouth, and can be ridden in a snaffle or curb.
He stands quietly to be tacked, whether tied to a post, in cross ties, or just ground tied. He will pick up all four feet to have them picked or for the farrier. He can be clipped without a twitch. He will walk up to you in the pasture, and is easy to catch. He can be bathed without being tied, and is good for flyspray. He is currently turned out in a mixed herd, and gets along with everybody. He does not require a special diet or maintenance. He has no history of lameness or health issues. We have clean x-rays available for you to review.
