Jim & John are like seeing a clip out of a black and white western movie, the kind you watched with your grandpa when you were knee high to a grasshopper. This team has earned a living operating a farm and providing for a family just like you see in the movies, or like the stories that your grandparents told you about when they helped work the family farm in their youth. They are even full brothers! They have hauled water and hay through the winter, worked the ground like you see modern day tractors work in the field, hauled the family to town to sell fresh baked goods, and even been handled by 8 – 14-year-old children. They truly are like looking through a window into the past, and seeing a way of life that's almost long forgotten these days! This handy team can drive single, double, or on either side. They are truly a family type of team, they are honest, and you can expect them to stay broke, even with time away from work. The 14-year-old of the family has hitched and driven them many times by himself, as well as working the farm equipment. The younger children can easily take the team over after they are harnessed and hitched. Jim & John have done all types of farm work, if you can imagine something that requires horsepower on a working farm... they have done it! Whether in the pasture or stalled, both geldings are easy to catch. Shake a bucket, and they will be at your side in no time. On the ground, both lead easily and are very well mannered. They are not pushy on the ground at all and have no disrespectful bad habits. Jim & John are a very mentally mature team; there is nothing that we have asked them to do that they have even hesitated with. They stand quietly to harness, step over the tongue to hitch, and handle stressful situations with ease. It doesn't matter if you are driving them through the busy streets of town, or driving through the hay field, they will give you the same honest ride every single time. They handle new things very well, making them a great team for beginners to learn with. We can load & unload them into a stock trailer while being hitched to a cart, they are a great minded team. They never shirked a task and are definitely a pair that you want on your side. As if their work ethic isn't enough, they are more than good looking enough to get you noticed in the town parade!
