Standing at 15 hands tall, Sahara has a nice drafty build with thick legs and solid feet. Her color is considered Golden Bay, which can easily pass for a buckskin. She can easily carry or pull a heavier load. She has excellent ground manners. She’s a trail machine. Fun and Safe to drive. And she’ll even help gather and medicate the cattle if you need it.

DRIVING: She stands stock still for hitching/unhitching, stop signs/lights, getting on/off the cart. She’s easy on the lines. Knows the commands whoa, easy, walk on, and trot. Great with traffic, big or small. Steady, slower pace under harness. She would make an excellent horse for giving carriage rides with or for driving lessons. She has a calm demeanor under harness, the kind you want if you are looking for safe.

RIDING: Out on the trails, she’s excellent; she’ll cross creeks, Bridges, or logs. She doesn’t mind the wildlife. She’ll ride front, back, or middle. She will separate from others on the trail and leave home alone just fine.

She stands excellently for mounting and knows the come over cue to pick you up at the mounting block, log, or anything you need to get on. She’s great for tacking up. Suitable for the farrier.

She has smooth gaits; her trot is easy to sit or post to. She has a slow jog trot and a faster extended trot. She has a nice smooth little lope, and she’ll pop right into.

She picks up the correct leads and knows how to move off your leg. She’ll move her shoulders, hindquarters, and do a little side pass for you.

She’s been used on the ranch for moving cows, roping, and medicating cattle. She is fine with roping and holding onto things. She’s not a fancy cutting horse, but she gets the job done and is steady. She makes for just a good, all-around, handy horse to have around. She’s sensible, does NOT spook easily, and she’s been there and done that.

She’s beginner-friendly, she takes care of her rider, and is forgiving. She has been used to give beginner kids lessons on how to ride in the arena, as well as lessons with roping off of her. She’s more WHOA than go, so she’s very safe that way. She also doesn’t mind riding double.

She loads into the trailer, backs right out, and hauls just fine. She’s an easy keeper. NO bad habits, vices, or maintenance with her. She has had foals in the past, and she’s a very good mother who takes care of her babies and throws nice drafty builds on them.

She is up to date on vaccines, wormings, teeth, farrier care, vet check, and Coggins. Just call to set up a time to see her or to ask any questions.
