Leonardo is the definition of the perfect family horse. He is the perfect size, easy to get on and off of, and easy for kids to saddle and ride, but big enough to carry any adult.
He is excellent out on the trail, steady and solid going up and down hills, through creeks, and whatever obstacle may come his way. He has experience riding on the road, and meeting big trucks, as can be seen in his video. He is trustworthy and will carry you safely through traffic if you so desire.
In the arena, he has excellent body control, and we have enjoyed playing with lateral movements and the walk and jog. He is cool and collected, thinking things out, never getting stressed or anxious. He has a good leg yield and shoulder in. He has a nice connection, and can be ridden on the bit in a dressage saddle, or loose reined under western tack. He has been exposed to things such as the tarp, and a variety of obstacles. We have popped him over jumps, and he is honest and willing.
Leonardo stands quietly in crossties to be groomed and tacked. Our 11 year old daughter can get him out, tack and ride him by herself. He is great for the farrier, and is a gentleman to bathe. He loads and trailers well. He has been to different trails and arenas, and is his same reliable self. He is sound, and has no history of lameness or illness.
