Butters is an absolutely gorgeous palomino gelding with the coolest dark “Bend-Or Spots” on his body that make his color very unique! He stands approximately 15.2 1/2 hands tall with a nice build, good solid legs, and feet. Butters is one of those horses that always wants to be friends with everyone. He doesn’t have a mean bone in his body. He will stand there with you all day and soak up all the attention he can get. He’s had kids mess around with him for hours and he stands perfectly still and does whatever they ask of him.
He has phenomenal ground manners, I don’t know about you but that’s very important to me. He’s stands tied quietly, whether in cross ties, on the trailer, to the arena gate. Or just standing in the arena ground tied as you walk around and set up jumps or ground poles!
He loads and unloads on the trailer nicely. He stands there patiently without pawing or swaying. He has great stall manners and is easy to catch out in the pasture field. He is a passive horse so he tends to be lower on the pecking order in the field.
As for riding Butters is a great ride that any level rider will enjoy! He has never offered to buck, bolt, or rear. He stands great to be mounted from the ground or the mounting block. He has a nice one hand neck rein and will move off leg pressure ques. He sets his head and will trot/jog smoothly. His lope is so smooth that you could quite literally sit it all day! He picks up both leads with ease. And is well seasoned on small circles he keeps a smooth collection with contact or a loose rein! In my opinion Butter would make a FANTASTIC English horse. I have started him over small cross rails and he just has a natural ability that someone could really fine tune. That being said I’m not the best English rider, but I try, and he is so forgiving! He don’t mind if I loose balance or accidentally bump him he keeps his composure and just waits for me to correct myself. With that type of disposition I think he would make a wonderful lesson horse. He has seen more arena riding than trail riding but that doesn’t bother him any he’ll go right out in the woods and across the creeks and through the mud! He’s not a spooky horse he may look at things but no crazy spook! I have had all levels of rider on him and get along with him great.
Butter has a Health Check from the vet and current coggins. He is ready to saddle up and go! We can help coordinate shipping, and if you can’t make it to see him in person I’m more than happy to do a FaceTime video with you! For any more information please give me a call or text 724-664-5327.
