Duque is a 13-year-old gray gelding, approximately 1.55 m at the withers, a typical leisure horse that doesn’t just “perform” but wants to be understood. He is a very sensitive and nervous horse, but incredibly kind, eager, and motivated when given security.

In handling, Duque is friendly and gentle, but he requires calmness and clear, consistent leadership. He doesn’t like men and feels much more comfortable around women. Initially, he was strongly head-shy, but through patience and training, this has improved significantly — however, sudden movements or quick halter approaches are absolute no-goes, as he can panic otherwise. Those who give him time and handle him respectfully will be rewarded with his trust.

Under saddle, Duque is diligent and cooperative, with no bucking or rearing. He responds very subtly to his rider and needs someone who stays calm, gives clear signals, and provides him with security. He is not suitable for rough or hurried riders — but for a sensitive, experienced person, he can become a very special partner.

Duque is not looking for a performance home but for someone who accepts him as he is, who sees his sensitivity not as a weakness but as a sign of finesse.

He will only be placed in loving, suitable hands.
