Big mane and tail.. rich buckskin color... registered gypsy vanner.... rides western, English, bareback, bridless and drives..... it's easy to see why Tater is so irresistible. I've had the pleasure of owning and training Tater for over a year. He is a diverse gelding who has been trained in multiple disciplines. While Tater is very well rounded, it's easy to say that his favorite things to do are trail ride and go through obstacles. He is comfortable and confident on the trails, as well as riding in town. Tater also enjoys walking over the teetering bridge, crossing logs, and playing with the tarp.
There are so many things to love about Tater. He stands crosstied, quietly waiting to be groomed and saddled, and is very patient while having his mane and tail braided. He can be ridden by adults or children. Tater does well even with extended periods of time off. He will ride bareback and bridleless through wide open spaces. He is traffic safe under saddle and harness. He is comfortable around other livestock, small pets, and children. Tater loves attention and is very good at attracting it! He has a fun personality, making him a real joy to be around.
Tater looks very elegant under harness and easily hitches to the carriage. He will drive down busy highways, through open fields, and even into town. Tater side passes to the mounting block and patiently waits until his rider is safely mounted. He is Teddy bear proof, as you can see in the pictures and video of Tater and his Teddy. Tater will ride on a big loose rein, lope correct circles while taking his leads on cue, side passes, and has a nice stop. He loads and hauls very well. Tater stands well for the farrier and easily picks up his feet.
