Let me introduce you to Magic. This 13-year-old, 16.0 hand jet black, quarter horse gelding is quite the horse. First off, he is a great size and sticks exactly 16.0 hands at the withers. You don’t find too many sixteen hand quarter horses and then to top it off he’s jet black which is even harder to find. A black horse is my favorite color horse, so I think this gelding is quite handsome. This horse has great bone, big feet and is not small framed by any means. He is built exactly as a quarter horse should be built.
Magic isn’t just looks, build and color. He is also a really well broke machine of a horse. This gelding has had a lot of training and it sure does show. No matter how old you are, you can ride this horse. He is safe and quiet. All you have to do is sit up there and hold the reins. He’s honestly like driving a Mercedes Benz on cruise control. This gelding is absolutely push button. He has a true two finger neck rein, has a good whoa, will back up a mile and lope off from a stand still. Magic knows his leads, will turn on his haunches and moves off leg. You can ride him on the buckle and he will never get quick or go faster than asked. His gaits are very smooth and collected. If smooth gaits are a top priority for you, then Magic is the horse for you. He has a really nice jog that you can sit to all day long. This horse rides around the arena like a school horse and will ride around in English tack just as well. He is also very willing to jump. I purchased this gelding off a lady that owned him for years. She said she did a little bit of everything with him including ranch work, working cattle, ranch pleasure, trail riding, jumping and low-level dressage. When you sit on this horse you know instantly that he has had a lot of time and training put into him. He is the perfect family horse, husband horse, kids horse and just an everyone kind of horse.
Out on the trails he goes wherever you point him. He’s sure footed and confident. Goes down the road and doesn’t bat an eye at cars. He’s the kind of horse you can relax and enjoy while going down the trail. Rides on a nice loose rein and walks home happily. Magic does trail ride alone or with other horses. He is not barn or buddy sour at all. He will lead or follow. Rides in a snaffle bit with a nice soft mouth. He isn’t the kind of horse that needs to be in a consistent program to behave, he’ll ride the same way even with time off.
Magic is barefoot, sound and has no vices. Lives inside or out and gets along with all other horses. An easy keeper that requires no maintenance or supplements. Before coming to us from Montana he lived outside 24/7 but has adjusted to being stalled and is happy living either way. Cross ties, clips, bathes, trailers, good to saddle and bridle. Magic is up to date on everything and ready to head to his next adventure. This is a really fun gelding to ride and will surely put a smile on your face when you climb up in the saddle.
