Pillsbury is an 8-year-old, dunskin, quarter horse gelding. He stands 15.1 hands tall and is an eye catcher for sure! He is very chunky/thick made weighing around 1300lb and has just the right conformation. His dunskin color is unique as well, as he has all the black points, a clear dorsal stripe, and markings on his legs.
Pillsbury is super quiet and laid back. He is gentle and very people friendly. He also has a great ride to go along with that great personality. He one-hand neck reins, backs, takes the correct lead when loping circles and has a big stop.
He has been used on a cow/calf operation, checking cows and calves, and checking fences and such. We’ve even used him to rope some wild cows as well. Pillsbury is also a great trail horse as he does an excellent job at navigating various types of terrain like rocks, sand, or mud. He goes up and down steep hills, over logs, and through deep creeks with ease. He will walk all day long or pick up and trot or lope when you ask him to. He rides alone or with a group, in front or in the back. He is easy to catch, he gets along well with other horses, loves a bath, and stands for the farrier. He is traffic safe and has been exposed to wildlife such as deer and Turkey, and livestock such as cattle and sheep. I cannot say enough good things about this horse.
